Lata Mangeshkar - The Era of "Nightingale of India" comes to an End

The Queen of Melody, The one in a million Superstar Singer of Bollywood, from the soil of India Lata Mangeshkar, Millions of people around the globe remember her as the "Nightingale of India" who has ruled the Indian industry of singing for many decades has died on the first Sunday of February 2022, at the age of 92.

She passed away in a hospital in Mumbai. She was admitted to the hospital in Mumbai because she was accused of Covid-19 symptoms. She was being kept in the Intensive Care Unit of Mumbai Hospital. She was admitted on January 11.



Many Bollywood co-stars and fans, Bollywood actors, and even the Prime Minister of India "Narendra Modi" have shared their love and condolence for Lata Mangeshkar's family and fans.

Life Journey of Lata Mangeshkar - Nightingale of India:

Mangeshkar was born in 1929 on 28 September in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. She was known as the "Queen of Melody" and "Nightingale of India" as well. She started her music training at an early age under the tutelage of her father 'Deenanath Mangeshkar'. She started singing in her theatrical productions at the very small age of 5 years.

When she was 13 years old her father died which causes caused her to go through hard times that forced her to take on the role of breadwinner for her family. Her family includes her four younger siblings. She and her family moved to Mumbai in 1945.

it was there that she began her career as a Playback Singer. Her high-pitched and melodious voice was soon a Staple of Bollywood Blockbusters. Due to her huge following, she was invited by the Government of India to sing a patriotic tribute to the soldiers killed in the 1962 Indo-China War at India's Republic Day commemorations in January 1963.

 The Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru got in tears during her performance of "Oh the People of my Country" back then.

Anil Biswas a legendary composer of Hindi Cinema said that he composed the music keeping in mind the range and the voice quality of the Queen of Melody "Lata Mangeshkar". Because he was well known for her legendary voice quality. This interview was published in the "Encyclopedia of Hindi Cinema".

He added that she had a wide range and no one could match her and one could think of a more complicated melodious than with the earlier untrained singers.

End of an Era:

She was not best only in singing but she was a multi-talented woman. She with her younger sister "Asha Bhosle" - Another legendary singer of Bollywood has ruled over Bollywood for over half-century. She was also fluent in many languages.

Mangeshkar was a bold lady. She was not shy to ask for her rights. She always took a stand when it comes to raising her prices or asking for a share of the royalties earned on her songs.

She had sung in more than 1000 films. She has almost recorded 27000 songs in different languages of the world. These languages include English, Russian, Dutch, Swahili, and many more.

She was a school dropout. She only had attended one class in a school located in Indore.
